04/09/2008 - Finishing the top
skins and adding the wiring conduit
A few
hours were spent finishing the cradle for the wing this morning.
Then Bernard came around again so all the riveting could be
finished.
We
took the wing off the jig and with a little rearrangement of the
workshop we could freely move the wing around for the first time.
Feels good.
Now
the trick with the wiring conduit is to stretch it and move it
through one rib at a time starting at the outboard end and working
towards the ribs that are close together, which is by far the
trickier part. Its noisy, but it did not take too long to
put it in. Now I know what your thinking, 'your not putting
lights in' so why the wiring conduit? Well if I do retro fit
later on into the wing tips then I always have this in place to
accept the wires as it would not be possible to put this in later.
